Fifty short stories / narrations in the book are emotional recollections of Col Reji Koduvath born in an Orthodox Christian family in Kerala. The book bring out details of his Kerala childhood days, formatting years at Sainik School Amaravathi Nagar , his bonding with classmates, teachers and staff, transformation as a young officer of the Indian Army to become Commanding Officer of a Regiment, memories and incidents in his soldier life with his superiors and men. Quitting the profession in uniform for assuming the large responsibilities of a single parent for the sake of his young children and later taking on the unconventional role of a house-husband shows the different personality of Col Reji . The narration is simple and lucid but touch an emotional chord, especially on us who are still in uniform, when you go through various incidents in life.
